Trinity Mirror New Media Spends £5m On ic24 Re-Brand

Trinity Mirror New Media this week launches a £5m re-branding campaign for its consumer ISP and portal, ic24. This follows an announcement last month that £150m will be invested by the group over the next three years to develop a seamless integrated regional network and national e-commerce sites (see Trinity Mirror Sells Belfast Telegraph To Independent).

The campaign, which aims to reinforce the brand’s ‘consumer commitment’ position, will include TV, print and outdoor advertising throughout April. All media has been planned by Mediacom TMB, with print advertising appearing in internet consumer magazines and outdoor including taxis, Adshels and buses.

ic24 was launched in May last year and is keen to be seen as pioneering free access and free online time. To this end, the strapline on re-branding media draws attention to “free online time from 9 to 5 every weekend”. The content of the site currently includes various news and information services as well as links to the online versions of various Trinity Mirror print titles.
