Trinity Mirror is set to partner with social media platform Pluck in a bid to boost interactivity across its newspaper websites – Mirror.co.uk, Dailyrecord.co.uk and LiverpoolEcho.co.uk.
Trinity plans to use Pluck’s SiteLife platform to offer social media tools to its key national and regional newspaper websites, to strengthen user experience, according to reports.
The publishing group will join Guardian Unlimited, USA Today, Sky News and Reuters, who each own a stake in the social media blog site.
David Black, group director of digital publishing at Trinity, said: “At the heart of our strategy is providing our users with a really engaging experience online. Pluck’s leading technology will play an instrumental role in helping us connect with our users.
“By giving social media tools such as user comments, ratings and user profiles a key role on our websites, we will be creating an enhanced experience for our audience, who know they can rely on us to offer the best ways to discuss the most pertinent issues of the day,” he added.
Pluck is due to be launched on Trinity’s newspaper sites later this year.
