UK Radio Groups Come Together For Six-Figure Ad Deal

Three major UK radio groups have come together to secure a six-figure advertising deal with drinks brand Dr.Pepper.

In what is understood to be a first for the radio industry, a month long campaign will run throughout July across Chrysalis Radio’s Galaxy Network, Capital’s regional network and Emap’s Kiss 100 in London.

The three radio groups came together to pitch for the deal and plan to fund a major research programme into the effectiveness of radio advertising in an attempt to lure the drinks brand, which advertises predominantly on TV and cinema, onto the radio on a long-term basis.

Commenting on the initiative, Dan Durling, Chrysalis Radio sales’ agency group head, said: “We are delighted to welcome the Dr.Pepper brand to the Galaxy Network. It is absolutely brilliant that both Chrysalis and Capital Radio can work together to secure one of the biggest international drink brands as a new advertiser to radio”.

Earlier in the week Chrysalis-owned London radio station Heart 106.2 launched a major marketing campaign to promote its Drivetime show. The campaign will give listeners the chance to win a luxury holiday to destinations including the Maldives, Rio de Janero and Dubai (see Heart 106.2 Launches Dream Ticket Promotion).
