Understanding Of Internet Is Limited

Understanding Of Internet Is Limited

According to the second wave of the TGI New Media Monitor, awareness of the Internet is increasing steadily, with 68% of the population having heard of it. This rises to 88% amongst ABs, and represents an increase of 13% in awareness compared to research conducted in September 1995.

However, understanding of the Internet is still limited; only 33% say they have a good understanding of what the term “Internet” means and this rises to just over half, 54% for ABs.

These findings, showing there is still a need to educate the population about the World Wide Web, even among business men and upmarket sectors of society, are taken from the November wave of TGI New Media Monitor.
