Xfm London has agreed a deal that will see the GCap Media station creating weekly bespoke branded editorial content supporting the free Sport Magazine.
The three-month deal, which starts today, sees Xfm broadcasting a 60-second weekly sports update each Friday morning. The content will preview the forthcoming weekend’s sporting activities and be tagged and commercially owned by Sport, the recently launched magazine (see Free Sport Magazine Launches In London), which in September recorded its first ABC of 316,602.
The feature will support the distribution of Sport to its primary audience of 18-40-year-old ABC1 men in London. To build further awareness, the feature will be preceded on a Thursday with a live read at 8am directing people to listen out to the Friday morning feature. GCap Media’s sport journalist Paddy Bunce will voice the features.
“This is a great fit for Sport,” said Greg Miall, publishing director for Sport. “The profile of Xfm’s audience is ideal for us and their flexibility in creating this activity for us is refreshing. Sport is going from strength to strength and our investment in marketing beyond distribution is testament to this.”
