YTTV Back Into Profit
Yorkshire Tyne Tees has announced results for the 15 months ending December 31 Pre-tax profits were up to £10.51m, compared to a loss of £7.88m. After the first 6 months of the reporting period, to March 31, YTTV was in the red by £4.6m, but a dramatic improvement in performance led to the group absorbing the loss and finishing in the black. Ward Thomas, executive chairman of YTTV has said he will remain chairman until 1998 if required. Aged 71, he will remain to provide continuity during the renegotiation of ITV licences due to happen around that time. YTTV’s shares rose 13 pence this morning to 379p.
