One in five US Netflix subscribers has cancelled their pay TV subscription, according to a new report from eMarketer.

The rise in subscription cuts raises questions about cord-cutting – particularly with Netflix subscribers. eMarketer found a notable propensity to cut the cord among Netflix subscribers between 30 and 44 years old, with 41% having cut pay TV.

Overall, this demographic was more likely to subscribe to Netflix than 18 to 29 year olds.

Those between 45 and 60 were the most likely to be Netflix customers, at 33%, but only 17% had cancelled their pay TV subscription.

The majority of Netflix streamers reported watching the service on their PC, followed by streaming via a games console connected to the TV (38%), and then tablets (37%).
