£85m Rights Issue For WPP

In an attempt to repay its $150m bridging loan, WPP Group is launching a £85m rights issue. Shareholders will be asked to pay 45p a share for new ordinary shares on the basis of four for every five shares already held.

The Group has stated to current shareholders that profits for 1992 have risen from £38.4m to £53.8m with revenue of £1.27bn.
