Sky’s Now TV has been launched on iPhone and iPad to compete against LoveFilm and Netflix’s iOS services.
Although Now TV’s subscription costs significantly more than LoveFilm and Netflix (£14.99 compared to £4.99 and £5.99), Now TV promises to release five new films every week which are not available through its competitors – along with a large collection of pay-as-you-watch programmes from Sky.
For £14.99 a month Now TV subscribers can benefit from an all you can eat service with Sky Movies Pass or they can opt for a pay and play movie priced between 99p and £3.49.
Now TV’s launch promised, “no contract” and “no waiting around” in an attempt to separate itself from competitors and offer a service with content people will want to watch.
In future, Now TV will look to offer Sky Sports as part of the service, which will undoubtably make Now TV a fierce competitor in the market.
