The latest ABC digital figures, released today, show strong growth across the entire national newspaper market for January 2012.
The Independent online saw the strongest growth, up 25.1% on the previous month, securing over 1.2 million unique daily browsers, on average (up 243,245).
The Daily Mirror saw similarly strong growth of 23.9% on December 2012, although, with an average of just over 1 million daily browsers, is bottom of the pile.
Remaining the clear leader with 7.9 million daily browsers is the Mail Online, with a 13.3% increase on the previous month, netting an extra 938,106.
The Guardian, in second position, also had another good month, up 17.3% and bagging an extra 637,500 browsers to see it hit 4.3 million – a record for the newsbrand.
Meanwhile, the Sun online was up 16.2% to reach 1.8 million browsers and the Telegraph online up 11.4%, remaining in third place with just over 3.1 million browsers each day.
