Global Radio appoints new director of digital

Global Radio has announced the appointment James Hickman, former product development director of The Perform Group, as its new director of digital.

The role will see Hickman responsible for all of Global Radio’s websites – which currently reach over six million unique users – and Global apps.

Leading a team of 50 and reporting to Global Group CEO Stephen Miron, Hickman’s role will also include responsibility for all of Global’s digital products – encompassing strategy, development and content across all platforms and all devices.

Hickman has worked at The Perform Group for seven years, and was involved in the recent relaunch of goal.com and livesport.tv.

Miron said that this is a “significant appointment”‘ as the importance of digital continues to grow for Global, and that the company is delighted to welcome somebody of Hickman’s calibre on board.

“I’m really looking forward to the challenge of taking Global’s digital properties to the next stage of their evolution, and being part of their dynamic and market leading team,” said Hickman.
