Media Ownership Controls Defeated

The House of Lords last night defeated an attempt to impose stricter controls on cross-ownership of satellite TV and newspapers. The main stumbling block proved to be the fact that the rules would not extend to non-domestic services such as Rupert Murdoch’s Sky Television.
