Forbes’ Charles Yardley to join City A.M.

City A.M. has appointed Charles Yardley to the newly-created role of chief operating officer.

Yardley leaves his role as managing director and publisher at Forbes, where he has been since 2004, to oversee City A.M.’s business operations.

Prior to joining Forbes, Yardley worked for Financial Times Business, the B2B arm of the Financial Times.

Commenting on the appointment, City A.M. CEO and co-founder Jens Torpe said: “Charles has exceptionally strong credentials in print and advertising.

“Over the past 12 years he has been instrumental in building the Forbes business that has bucked the trend in the publishing sector; Forbes has successfully grown its readership in print and built a digital business that accounts for 70% of advertising revenues. We are delighted that he is joining City A.M.

Lawson Muncaster, managing director and co-founder of City A.M. added: “This is a significant appointment for City A.M. as we continue to grow the brand, both online and in print.

“Working closely with our editorial and commercial teams, Charles’ experience at Forbes will be a fantastic asset.”

Yardley will join City A.M. in January 2016.
