CNBC’s John Pentin joins Smartology

Contextual digital advertising company Smartology has appointed John Pentin to the newly-created role of vice president of global sales.

Bringing with him strategic experience from publishers including CNBC, Bloomberg and Newsweek, Pentin will work with Smartology’s European, US and APAC teams.

“I am delighted to join Smartology at this pivotal stage in its development,” Pentin said.

“An innovative and fast growing company with huge potential, its platform provides advertisers with greater engagement and performance at a time when they are demanding more accountability.”

Smartology’s media owner partners include the Economist, the Financial Times and Reuters. It also has more than 40 global advertiser clients, including Blackrock, London Business School, Mishcon de Reya, RBS and Robeco Bank.

Smartology CEO Mark Bembridge added: “John brings an enviable track record to this new role with extensive experience at Newsweek, Bloomberg and CNBC and strong relationships with both media owners and agencies.

“A great cultural fit for the business, he will work closely with the European sales team and support our US and APAC Managing Directors as we put processes in place that will enable us to maximise our potential and continue to expand globally.”
