Taxi Advertising Goes Interactive

London Taxi Promotions (LTP), has launched an interactive initiative to attract travel and leisure advertisers to the sector in the wake of the events of 11 September.

The “Destinations Packages” will target tour operators, flight specialists, tourist boards and airlines by offering them special value deals incorporating liveried cabs, branded receipts and campaign miniature cabs.

All cab drivers who carry the destinations packages will visit the location they are advertising enabling them to give personal recommendations to customers about places to visit and hotels to stay in. LTP is selling the initiative as a truly “interactive media opportunity.”

LTP’s managing director, Asher Moses, said: “We’re offering travel and leisure advertisers a truly cost-effective point of difference in this difficult climate. The World Trade market is approaching and we are looking to meet all directors of tourism to see if we can help them raise their destination profile.”

Separately, Taxi Vision (see Ad Screens For Black Cabs), is set to launch within the 20,000 London licensed taxi fleet this month. The Media Initiatives Group will sell advertising on LCD screens, which will carry news, entertainment advertising.
