SYZYGY Group promotes Phil Stelter

WPP’s SYZYGY has announced the promotion of Phil Stelter to chief media officer of the entire group.

In his new role, Stelter will be responsible for increasing international collaboration, better integrating the media proposition and enabling cross-sell of those capabilities across the SYZYGY group, as well as into WPP.

He previously served as managing director for the company.

Stelter has nearly 20 years’ experience in digital marketing, including a stint as a digital consultant in politics and entertainment before working at a California-based e-commerce start-up.

He gained further experience across a series of performance agencies in the US and UK and has worked at SYZYGY for the last eight years.

He will report directly to CEO Lars Lehne.

“For all the industry talk about the importance of customer experience, not enough people are applying those same principles to media,” said Stelter.

“It doesn’t matter how ‘seamless’ your site or app is if you’re serving intrusive ads and unwanted retargeting with a message that doesn’t connect.

“Customer experience often begins in media. As chief media officer of SYZYGY, my mission will be to better align and integrate our media work around the overall customer experience.

“Our clients want the trust that comes with transparency as well as the performance we can drive through better customer engagement. SYZYGY helps clients deliver the best total experience to keep customers coming back for more.”
