BBC To Promote Radio 2 On Soap

The BBC is to use Eastenders to promote BBC Radio 2, as part of a campaign to attract younger listeners.

A poster with the slogan “It’s all for you on Radio 2” will be positioned in Albert Square for 16 episodes during October and November. The same poster will go up on poster sites nationally from next month.

This is the first time the BBC has sanctioned the use of a TV programme to promote radio and comes just 2 weeks after the MMC report recommended restrictions against the BBC’s promotion of magazines on TV.
