Qualities Circulation figures for the period November-April’92, show the Financial Times standing stable at 0.2%, year-on year to 290,404, while the other quality newspapers show a decrease.
For example the Independent was the worst hit, falling 8.2% to 372,647, although the Independent On Sunday only recorded a fall of 1.6% to 379,589. Following the Independent both the Observer and the Times suffered a simmilar decrease, the Observer down 5.5% to 546,057, and the Times down 5.8% to 389,460. Mid-Markets Among the mid-market newspapers both the Sunday Express and the Mail On Sunday recorded increases. The Mail On Sunday increased 3.4% to 1,996,435, and the Sunday Express up 3.2% to 1,667,312. Out of the mid-market dailies, Today newspaper showed the lowest circulation, down 6.2% to 474,477, while the Daily Express and Daily Mail fell along similar lines with the Daily Express recording a decrease of 3.6% to 1,503,068.
Populars The popular newspaper titles show the largest decrease in circulation through-out the national press. Popular Continued.. The largest was recorded by the sunday People, down 10.8% to 2,144,728, follwed by the Sunday Sport, down 10.5% to 331,839. The smallest decrease was the sunday Mirror, down 0.8% to 2,794,792.
The Daily Star also experianced a substancial loss of 8.7% to 804,181.
