Media and marketing consultancy Ebiquity has hired Nick Waters as its new group chief executive officer, replacing interim CEO Alan Newman.
Waters brings over two decades’ of senior industry experience to the role, joining from ad network Dentsu Aegis, where he worked for 10 years. Most recently he served as the group’s executive chairman, UK & Ireland, following nine years as CEO of Asia Pacific.
Prior to Dentsu Aegis Network, Waters held senior roles at WPP-owned media agency Mindshare – including CEO of EMEA – after six years at ad agency Ogilvy & Mather.
“Ebiquity has built a market leading position with a highly attractive proposition for global brands and advertisers,” Waters said.
“I look forward to joining the Company and driving the business forward through the next phase of its growth journey.”
Newman, who has been serving as interim chief executive officer since the departure of Michael Karg late last year, will return to his role as chief financial and operating officer.
Both changes will be effective as of July 1, while Waters will also be appointed as an executive director of the board.
Commenting on Waters’ appointment, Rob Woodward, group chairman said: “Nick has an outstanding track record of leading global media and marketing businesses which will greatly benefit Ebiquity. He is an excellent addition to our executive team and brings a wealth of knowledge and experience in the media sector.”
He added: “I would like to thank Alan Newman for his strong leadership and commitment to the business in the role of Interim CEO, particularly through the current challenging environment and implementation of prudent measures to manage the business. Nick and Alan have highly complementary skills and
experience, which will significantly strengthen the executive team.”
