IAB UK hires first head of adtech

The industry body for digital advertising, IAB UK, has named Tina Lakhani as its first head of adtech to further support the sector.

In her new role, Lakhani will be responsible for formulating and communicating the IAB’s position on key adtech issues, with current priorities including the development of the Gold Standard, coordinating a cross-industry solution to the end of third-party cookies, and delivering a response to the ICO’s updated investigation into real-time bidding.

Lakhani joined the IAB in 2018 as adtech and standards manager, having previously worked at companies including Exponential and Affectv.

She will start her new role with immediate effect, reporting into Tim Elkington, IAB UK’s chief digital officer.

“With the end of third-party cookies in sight and our ongoing work to address the ICO’s report well underway, it’s crucial that the right expertise is brought to the table,” Elkington commented.

“With her in-depth knowledge of the industry, Tina is perfectly placed to deliver this and ensure that our adtech members are getting the support they need. Her prior experience of managing the Gold Standard will also be instrumental as we evolve the initiative and continue to champion industry best practice.”
