Lycos Creates New Interactive Division
![]()
Lycos has set up a dedicated interactive division to manage and sell its entire range of interactive products.
The new division, which will be led by head of interactive Marcus Saller, will bring together the company’s mobile, chat, email and site building services. Lycos is approaching brands to run campaigns across its interactive portfolio, which it believes offer advertisers a unique opportunity to communicate with consumers.
A spokeswoman for Lycos said: “It makes sense to have these operations combined in one division and run centrally. Our interactive services are proving popular with advertisers looking to target users in a brand-centric environment.”
Lycos is understood to be in talks with TV stations for sponsorship opportunities around Love@Lycos and looks set to sign a second sponsor for its mobile, PC mobile and SMS services.
Last month Lycos appointed mobile media company, Enpocket, to handle its mobile marketing and wireless media activity (see Lycos Awards Mobile Marketing Account To Enpocket). Enpocket now runs permission-based targeting of Lycos’ 1.2 million-strong mobile user base and presents marketers with the opportunity to launch pan-European wireless campaigns across the Lycos Europe network.
