Sunday Times Expands Coverage

Sunday Times Expands Coverage

The Sunday Times is hoping to attract a higher percentage of Irish and Scottish readers from next month when it plans to relaunch both editions, making them more accessible to readers in different areas. Editor of the paper Andrew Neil, believes that there is no serious rival to the Sunday Times in Ireland and is confident that the present circulation in the Republic of 40,000 will increase.

The new Scottish version will contain 14 pages of sport, which aim to include local sports news along with the national coverage.

The launch of a tabloid Style and Travel section is the latest attempt by Neil to draw in female readers, with the new look being similar to the recently relaunched Culture supplement. Ideas for the 32-page section are still be thrown around but the final look will be the responsibility of assistant editor, Sue Douglas.
