Chrysalis-owned Rivals Digital Media has secured World Cup content deals with radio website provider FM Interactive (FMI) and electronics retailer Jungle.
The deal will see Rivals provide six of FMI’s radio station websites with content from its Rivals.net and Football365 sites throughout the tournament, which kicks off today. In return Rivals will receive branding across each of the radio stations and their websites.
Rivals has also agreed to provide jungle.com’s dedicated webpage with content from its WorldCupRivals and WorldCup365 sites. In return, Rivals will feature heavily in Jungle’s weekly email newsletter and will receive branding on the Jungle website.
Nancy Detchon, operations director for FMI, said: “Rivals already has an established reputation as a quality content provider so it was an obvious choice for us to select as a World Cup content partner. This new partnership will enable us to expand our sports offering to our audiences across all the radio stations.”
Duncan Garnham of Jungle added: “Jungle wanted to offer its users up-to-date news, information and opinions on all the World Cup action. With Rivals providing the editorial we know we have the fans’ choice of content.”
Rivals recently signed a six-figure advertising deal with Wireless Group-owned TalkSPORT to sponsor its Sunday Morning Sports Breakfast Show throughout the World Cup (see TalkSPORT Listeners To Wake Up With Rivals).
