Geordie Greig out as Daily Mail editor

Geordie Greig has been replaced as editor of The Daily Mail after three years in the role.

Ted Verity, the editor of The Mail on Sunday, will replace Greig and have responsibility for both newsbrands.

This comes as the leadership team of the Daily Mail‘s parent company DMGT is reshuffled  as Rich Caccappolo has been appointed CEO of DMG Media, replacing Kevin Beatty.

Caccappolo was previously chief operating officer of Mail Online and this promotion is seen to signal a greater unity between the print and online publications where previously they had separate editorial agendas and staff.

Also James Welsh, DMGT deputy chief financial officer will become deputy CEO of the holding company.
