Analysis of TV revenue estimates for February reveals continuing bad news for the UK’s terrestrial TV channels. Overall, terrestrial channels saw a 11.9% year on year decline in revenue during the month. The UK’s largest commercial broadcaster, ITV1, experienced the most significant fall. Channel 4 also fared poorly with revenue slipping year on year, while Channel 5 saw only a modest decline during February. In comparison there was slightly better news for Satellite channels, which saw revenue rise year on year during February.
Among the ITV franchises, North West/Border saw the most significant gain, with its share of revenue rising year on year. HTV also saw some upward movement during February, with its share of revenue climbing just above 6%. At the other end of the scale LWT experienced the most significant year on year drop, with share of revenue slipping 1.54 percentage points.
Carlton and Central continued to retain the largest share of ITV revenue.
