JCDecaux Launches New Column Sites In City Centres
![]()
JCDecaux has launched two new networks of 12-sheet advertising columns in city centres across the country.
The new networks have been designed specifically to target shoppers and were previously part of the contractor’s 6-sheet network. This is the first time that advertisers will be able to utilise handpicked column locations to maximise their retail impact.
The special columns are back-lit and offer 40 square feet of advertising space at ideal locations for purchase-prompt advertising. The network of sites covers Sloane Square and Tottenham Court Road in London, John Lewis in Glasgow, House of Fraser in Birmingham, Selfridges and Kendalls in Manchester and John Lewis in Sheffield.
Commenting on the new initiative, Spencer Berwin, group sales director at JCDecaux UK, said: “Our dominance in the UK’s biggest city centres means we are able to build columns in highly visible shopping areas proving that JCDecaux provides advertisers with the best opportunities where it really counts. These unique sites are exclusive to JCDecaux and no other outdoor media owner has either the product or locations.”
Earlier this year JCDecaux expanded its Premiere brand with a new range of giant poster sites to provide maximum impact for outdoor advertisers. The company was also recently named outdoor sales team of the year at the Campaign Media Awards 2003 (see JCDecaux Extends Premiere Brand With Giant Sites).
