![]()
Emap’s Metro Radio has teamed up with wireless marketing company Flytxt to create a new campaign aimed to help build its SMS database and increase its number of listeners.
The special promotion, entitled ‘Topless for Summer’, will invite listeners to text their details and listen to Brian Moore’s Breakfast Show to see if they have won one of three brand new Peugeot 206 convertibles.
The campaign will be supported by a range of ambient activity and the three winning cars will tour the North East of England with Metro branding across them. More than 100,000 flyers will also be distributed at shopping centres, workplaces, colleges and universities in the area.
SMS has been a key marketing medium for Metro Radio for the past two years. It now has over 22,000 text club members from previous competitions, such as the ‘Anonymous Valentine’s Game’. Metro DJs have also been using Flytxt’s live feed interface for the past two years, allowing the them to interact more easily with their listeners.
Flytxt recently revealed that a series of mobile marketing campaigns have helped drive subscribers to Chrysalis Radio’s text clubs at a rate of over 10,000 a month (see Flytxt Reveals Success Of Chrysalis Radio’s Text Club).
