BBC Gardeners’ World Teams Up With Tourism Ireland

BBC Gardeners’ World magazine has teamed up with Tourism Ireland to create a specially-branded 2005 calendar to promote the emerald isle as a tourist destination.

The calendar will be covermounted on the December issue of the magazine and will feature Tourism Ireland branding on the front and back covers, as well as specially tailored advertorials for each month of the year.

BBC Gardeners’ World magazine will also support the creation of the calendar with a special reader competition offering readers the chance to win a luxury trip to some of Ireland’s best gardens and heritage sites.

Commenting on the initiative, Jane Sproul, head of sponsorship at BBC Gardeners’ World, said “This is a perfect partnership for us and one which we are sure will appeal to our audience and add value to the magazine. Our readers love to explore beautiful gardens around Britain and Ireland and we know that this calendar will give them tremendous inspiration.”

David Wood, senior product executive at Tourism Ireland, added: “Ireland has a wealth of great gardens both formal and informal to visit and working with the magazine provides us with an excellent platform to promote our offering to a suitable target audience. We are excited to be the sponsor of the 2005 calendar, as this promotional piece is an excellent shop window for the promotion of the Irish garden and heritage sites to the British garden consumer.”

BBC Gardeners’ World magazine claims to be the UK’s favourite gardening title with its mix of expert ideas, advice and inspiration. The latest ABC results of 360,342 saw subscriptions increase by 7% year on year to over 126,000, highlighting the titles increasingly loyal readership.
