Overture Signs Contextual Ad Deal With Finance Site

Search targeted marketing firm Overture has signed a contextual advertising deal with financial services provider Interactive Investor to display content match results on its website.
The deal will see Overture embed relevant search results on content-based pages, including Overture’s paid placement listings generated by the company’s growing world-wide base of 100,000 advertisers.
Interactive Investor’s website provides its users with financial facts and independent information to make sound financial decisions. Overture’s adverts will run across the website’s Markets, News and Portfolio sections, with users presented with a maximum of three results per page.
The adverts will be presented in the form of a boxed title, description and link, clearly marked as ‘Ads by Overture’ to maintain Interactive Investor’s impartiality. However, Overture’s highly targeted system will allow users to be presented with adverts consistent with the content being viewed. For example, if a user is looking at the latest data within the website’s Markets section, they may see listings advertising ‘share dealing online’ or ‘investing in the stock market’.

Overture has worked hard recently to expand its business, signing a deal with internet giant Microsoft to place sponsored search results on MSN sites world-wide to June 2006. The deal builds on the long-running relationship already built up between the two companies, with Overture allowing highly targeted campaigns to be run on Microsoft’s hugely popular portal site (see Overture Extends Search Marketing Deal With MSN).
