Emap Advertising To Improve Efficiency With Inventory Boss

Emap Advertising has announced the appointment of Beverley Entwistle as the company’s new head of inventory, charged with ensuring advertising campaigns across Emap’s portfolio of radio stations are delivered in the most efficient way for advertisers.

Entwistle joins Emap with a wealth of experience in the inventory management area, having previously worked for Granada and, latterly, ITV. Reporting directly to Dave King, Emap Advertising’s managing director, she will assume responsibility for efficient advertising across the company’s local, regional and national radio stations.

Commenting on her appointment, Entwistle said: “Over the past decade the importance of inventory management has increased significantly as broadcasters seek to expand their business potential for both themselves and their customers. Emap is demonstrating a massive commitment to this area and I am looking forward to taking up this challenging role within the company.”

Dave King added: “We owe it to our customers to make the best use of our airtime. It’s an area of increasing importance in radio and Beverley will drive this initiative for us”

Emap claims that the increasing sophistication of the radio airtime market makes focusing on inventory management more important than ever. The appointment of a dedicated head of inventory will minimise wastage and deliver well-targeted campaigns, the company claims.

Emap Advertising recently announced the launch of an innovative digital radio initiative to provide subsidised advertising rates for DAB radio retailers in the all-important run up to Christmas. It is hoped that the scheme will increase uptake of the medium, and encourage those listeners currently tuning in through digital TV to make the switch to DAB digital radio equipment (see Emap Advertising Cuts Rates To Drive DAB Uptake).
