Admedia Appoints Marston As New Agency Sales Head

Outdoor advertising contractor Admedia has announced the appointment of Chris Marston as its new head of agency and client sales with responsibility for all generating revenue for the group.

Admedia currently operates 20,000 washroom posters in shopping centres, service stations, bars and pubs nationwide, claiming to deliver over 150 million impacts every month. The company also owns and operates all illuminated billboards in the UK’s motorway service stations.

Marston joins Admedia with experience in agency, national press and online environments, including having held the position of sales controller at the Daily Star and being responsible for setting up Yahoo’s strategic sales team. His latest role will see Marston charged will increasing the size of Admedia’s sales team and with overseeing all of the company’s revenue streams.

Commenting on his appointment, Marston said: “With the fragmentation of media consumption over the last few years, Admedia have developed and are developing fantastic products that have the ability to really help clients communicate with their potential customers. Admedia has experienced huge growth in the last two years and I am very excited about helping to lead their continued growth in the future.”

Philip Vecht, joint cheif executive of Admedia, added: “Chris has a superb track record, experience and insight in the media market place. He is extremely well placed to build on our increasing portfolio of products and services and respond to our expanding client and agency requirements.”

Outdoor advertising has seen a bumper year so far, with the medium’s market share edging close to 10% and recent figures showing revenue topping £225 million in the three months to December 2003 (see Outdoor Results Show Record Growth And Market Share).
