WFCA Integrates Agency With Planning/Buying Division

WFCA Integrated has announced the creation of its first dedicated media planning and buying department following its recent successful bid for Carpetright’s £7 million account.

The new business will be headed by one of MediaCom’s original founders Bill Jones (pictured left), who will be joined by media manager Tina Crouch, another former Grey Global staff employee.

Commenting on the new division, Michael Richards, WFCA’s chief executive (pictured right), said: “It’s about time media came home again to be part of the creative agency and not just hived off as a separate profit centre. We have been very keen to provide our clients with a genuine fully integrated service, and the addition of the media department broadens our service offering.”

The launch of the new planning and buying division follows the successful creation of an online department, which was unveiled earlier this year to wide-spread critical acclaim having already won an award for WFCA for outstanding results.

Expressing enthusiasm at the new venture, Jones said: “The opportunity to work within a through the line, full service agency with a fully integrated media offering is both exciting and compelling. Media horizons continue to expand and here at WFCA, we are now able to offer a hands on and very experienced media service to the agency’s burgeoning client list.”

In other related news, Carat has become the latest agency to respond to the increasing role of new media in the marketing mix with the launch a dedicated department to handle all of its digital planning and buying business (see Carat Launched Dedicated Digital Department).
