Viacom Brand Solutions Bolsters Sales Operation

Viacom Brand Solutions has bolstered its sales operation with the appointment of Carlton Television’s Ross Belcher as group account director.

Mike Barrett has also been recruited from Carlton to take up the position of account director and Alex Kisby joins the team from MediaVest Manchester as regional account director with responsibility for sales on a local level.

The appointments are part of wider initiative designed to enable the television sales house, which represents, MTV, Paramount, Nickelodeon, to increase its offering to advertisers. There have also been to promotions within the existing team and Damon Lafford has been appointed sales controller, whilst Sharb Farjami takes the role of group account director.

Commenting on the recruitment drive, Paul Curtis, managing director of Viacom Brand Solutions, said: “VBS has recently enjoyed substantial growth due to the continued strength of the brands we represent and our commitment to creating highly-valued marketing solutions. As a result, we have needed to strengthen our core team to continue to provide the high quality service to our clients.”

Viacom Brand Solutions was formed three years ago to sell advertising space on behalf of a range of cable and satellite channels. The company recently formed marketing alliance with Capital Radio, and IPC Ignite to increase cross-media advertising in the youth and entertainment market (see Media Owners Team Up For Cross-Platform Deal).

Last week the RSVP partnership secured its first integrated cross-media deal with Target NMI to promote its forthcoming film, The Butterfly Effect. The film, starring Ashton Kutcher and Amy Smart, will be promoted prior to its release to a core youth audience of 16 to 24 year-olds with a single theme running across television, radio, online and press (see RSVP Alliance Secures First Cross-Media Deal).
