New Look Livingtv Completes Rebranding Exercise

Cable and satellite channel Living TV has announced the completion of an extensive rebranding exercise, due to be unveiled publicly next month.

The rebranding exercise is designed to reinforce Livingtv’s ambition to become the “6th channel on UK television” and underline its recent spate of successful programming.

The new branding follows a bumper year for the channel as it drew a total audience of 11 million viewers per month and held its largest ever TV event, the Most Haunted Live three-night ghost hunt watched by over two million people.

Commenting on the rebranding Richard Woolfe, director of programming for Livingtv, Bravo and Ftn said: “Livingtv has evolved into a highly successful entertainment channel. It was high time the look reflected the diversity of incredibly popular programming available. The new identity is crisp, it’s classy – it rocks!”

Creative agency Karmarama was appointed to work with the channel’s in-house creative and on air teams to create the new branding. Ben Bilboul, managing partner, Karmarama explained the logic behind the channel’s new image, stating: “Developing an identity was simply a case of reflecting [Livingtv’s] strengths. We were also lucky enough to be given a great brief: to create and implement a new brand identity everywhere from the on air identity to the channel’s business cards.”

The move follows research conducted by the ITC (now incorporated into Ofcom) earlier in the year showing multichannel television now reaches more than half of UK homes (see Multi-Channel Television Statistics Q3 2003).
