Highbury Entertainment Readies High-End PC Title

Highbury Entertainment has announced that it will launch what it calls the “largest and most exciting consumer PC magazine to hit the shelves in the last ten years” in October, branded GigaHz the title will cover the high-speed, performance computing market.

The 180-page title promises a “no-holds-barred” approach to computing, offing dedicated PC users uncompromising reviews and editorial on the latest hardware and technology, as well as advice on modifying their computers to improving performance.

Highbury claims the title will bring a touch of style to the computing magazine market, featuring high production values and lavish photography to accompany its in-depth features and bench tests.

Describing the new title, Paul Lester, editor of GigaHz said: “GigaHz is a truly ambitious high-end computing magazine that is set to carve a new niche in a crowded industry. The plans we have for this project are extremely exciting, and I am confident that the title will offer the power user a solution of the highest quality.”

Earlier this year Highbury announced the launch of another high-tech consumer title, with iHome Magazine designed to cater for readers with intelligent home technology and the so called “smart home concept”. The title claims to reflect the growing interest in customising TV, sound and computer systems in the home to communicate with each other (see Highbury Target Tech Market With iHome Magazine).

Elsewhere Highbury recently announced increased profits as a result of success by its business magazine sector. The company announced at its AGM in May that that Group revenue for the first four months of this year is up 38% on the same period last year, due mainly to its business titles (see Highbury House Reaps Benefits of 2003 Acquisitions).
