Applications for the North West radio licence closed last week with 11 groups in the running. Contenders include North West Voice FM, run by former Granada chairman David Plowright, North West Live, headed by Owen Oyston and Heart FM which is offering “distinctive romantic mood and personality listening”. Other applicants for the licence are Apollo FM, FMFM Ltd, Fortune FM, Jazz FM, Northern Lite FM, North West Country Radio Ltd, The Dream and North West Radio Ltd.
