MegaPoster Drives Expansion With Mitsubishi Campaign

MegaPoster has secured car manufacturer Mitsubishi to launch its new Colt model with a national giant banner campaign featuring two of the company’s prime sites in Birmingham and London.

The two sites will spearhead a five-banner campaign that will run throughout July and August instead of the normal one month poster period. The creative will feature Mitsubishi’s new car on the sea bed alongside the strapline: “Colt. The New Mitsubishi.”

MegaPoster claims the two sites are among the best in the UK, with the Cochrane theatre site in London attracting a monthly traffic count of 720,000 and the Holloway Circus site in Birmingham gaining exposure amongst 2.16 million vehicles.

Commenting on the campaign, Ian Bohn, sales and marketing director at Megaposter UK, said: “Booking a whole month gives the advertiser increased frequency to add to the natural enormous impact that our giant banners generate. A number of car advertisers are now using the medium for serious branding campaigns.”

Last month MegaPoster secured a deal that will see Nissan promote the launch of its new 350Z coupe with a giant banner campaign including the newly acquired site on the Hicking building in Nottingham (see MegaPoster Signs Nissan For Coupe Launch Campaign).
Meanwhile, outdoor advertising company Clear Channel UK is believed to be in talks with rival giant poster contractor Mega Profile about a possible take-over that could save the company from closure (see Mega Profile Rumoured To Be In Takeover Talks).
