Telewest Extends Teleport To Quarter Million Viewers

Caple operator Telewest is continuing to expand its Teleport on demand services, adding a further 125,000 households to its network which now totals almost of quarter of a million subscribers.

The Teleport service, which launched earlier this year (see Telewest Completes First Phase Of On-Demand Roll Out), allows customers access to film and television content at the push of a button, with DVD-style control, such as fast forward, rewind and pause.

The latest extension to Teleport’s footprint brings customers in Exeter, Plymouth, Torquay, Crawley, Tunbridge Wells, Croydon, Kingston and Richmond into the service, which is bundled free of charge to existing subscribers.

Telewest’s rollout is expected to continue apace for the rest of the year, finishing sometime around Q2 2006.
