MPG Appoints McDonald As Head Of Broadcast

Jim MacDonald The Media Planning Group (MPG) has appointed Jim McDonald to be its head of broadcast, with the former commercial director and managing partner of the Allmond Partnership taking up the position in December.

The appointment is the latest one at MPG after Mark Craze joined as managing director in July, signalling an important step in the Havas owned group’s three-year development plan.

Commenting on the move, Craze said: “This is the latest step in our declared plan to build a very senior team to steer the agency to its next stage of development. We are looking to further strengthen the team in the near future. In hiring Jim we have taken a rare opportunity to bring in a very senior figure to be head of broadcast.”

McDonald added: “MPG are in a great position to capitalise on the way the UK media market is evolving. A strong management team is being built, backed by very impressive resource from the Group. There is an entrepreneurial spirit at MPG, and I am really excited about the opportunity to join the agency at this stage of their development.”

MPG appointed Craze to work alongside the current chief executive officer, Marc Mendoza, with the management split will seeing Mendoza concentrate on operations, client service and existing clients, while Craze will focus on strategy, implementing the development plan, new business and additional services (see MPG Signs Craze As Investment Programme Takes Off).
