BARB Suspends Sky+ Measuring

BARB Logo TV ratings body BARB, has announced the suspension of Sky+ reporting, while continuing investigations into abnormal data being generated from some homes.

BARBs claims that to date there have been approximately 110 homes withheld from the measurement process, with around half of those relating to problems set-top boxes; for which the download to activate reporting was incorrect. The other households have been withheld due to other quality control reasons.

As a result BARB has suspended Sky+ reporting until further notice with investigations into the quality control issues continuing with AGB Neilsen Media Research and with BSkyB.

BARB will be revealing more information later today.

BARB announced plans to start reporting viewing figures for PVR playback from stored content on Sky+ devices in September, with the TV body working with its meter providers AGB Nielsen Media Research, and BSkyB (see BARB To Measure PVR Playback Figures).
