BBC Hits Back At Criticism

The BBC is adamant that it will not be able to meet Home Office demands for its Enterprises division to provide a greater proportion of BBC revenue if it is forced to stop advertising its mags on BBC TV (Newsline 11/3, 13/3).

The BBC has already made public its intention to continue the promotions, and Trade Secretary Peter Lilley has introduced a consultation period until 19 April, when a response to the Sadler Enquiry recommendations will be determined.
