Take a Break Launches Multi-Million Pound Ad Push

TV Easy Logo H.Bauer Publishing has announced that women’s magazine Take a Break is to embark on a new multi-million pound TV advertising campaign created by Mustoes.

The multi-million TV ad campaign for Take a Break starts tomorrow, staring Emma Chambers of Vicar of Dibley fame in eight, ten second spots. The ads will appear on ITV, Channel 4 and Channel 5 as well as being aired during Coronation Street and Emmerdale.

Commenting on the initiative, David Goodchild, managing director of Bauer, said, “Take a Break is a publishing success story having been market leader for over 14 years and it continues to outsell all other women’s magazines by 2 to 1 or greater. This year we have seen new entrants come into the market but Take a Break has shown that its relationship with its readers remains untouched.”

Philippa Hamilton, associate publisher for Take a Break added: “Take a Break’s success is reflective of the strength of its editorial and the team’s ability to build that unequalled reader relationship. This is something that lower cover prices cannot replace. Our commitment is to continue to drive value growth in the market and this campaign is designed to reinforce the unique relationship Take a Break has with its readers.”

In the latest ABC results, the market-leading magazine suffered a decline, although its downturn was relatively small, losing 0.7% year on year. Despite this, it managed to retain its position at the top of the table with a circulation of just over 1.2 million – almost double that of its nearest rival.
