Ocean Outdoor Secures ‘Iconic’ London Site

Ocean Outdoor Logo Ocean Outdoor has secured the ad sales contract for London’s Clapham Tower, a soon to be launched “iconic” outdoor site near Clapham Junction.

The three-dimensional site is located on private land where the Waterloo and Victoria train lines diverge. The station, which is the busiest in Europe, sees 2,550 trains each day, with high commuter through-traffic driving more than one million people to the site each day.

The Tower will be raised seven metres above the ground, supporting three frontlit facades, each six metres high and 12 metres wide, dominating the skyline for commuters on their way into London.

Commenting on the new site, Ocean managing director Damian Cox, said: “This is the most exciting addition to the London outdoor market for several years and it will be on the outdoor shortlist of every major brand trying to reach London’s ABC1 consumers.

“The Tower has enormous potential and offers a range of options, for example rotating three dimensional campaigns for longer term advertisers.”

Ocean was set up at the start of 2005 by Cox, who formerly worked for blowUP Media and before selling his previous company E.K. Straas to Clear Channel.

Last month saw the company extend its portfolio of poster sites by almost 50% with the launch of its new 081 pack, a series of nine metre square lightbox panels at key locations in London and other major towns and cities. The outdoor specialist now has 25 sites in its portfolio, all in major conurbations.
