City AM Signs London Airports For Business Distribution

City AM London’s newest free morning newspaper, City AM, has secured distribution within all of the capital’s airports, significantly increasing its reach and further targeting the business community.

The newspaper will now be available at Heathrow, Gatwick, Stansted and City Airport, distributed through branded display units in over 50 business lounges serving major airlines including British Airways, Virgin, Emirates, Air France and Lufthansa.

The new distribution deals form part of the paper’s strategy to provide quality business news to the capital’s business community, and compliments the recently launched corporate delivery service – currently supplying copies of the newspaper to the offices of Price Waterhouse Coopers, Deutsche Bank, Merrill Lynch, HSBC, Fujitsu, Goldman Sachs and several other large corporates.

Commenting on the expansion, Jens Torpe, CEO at CITY AM, said: “The distribution in London airports is the latest part of our strategy to increase availability of CITY AM to our core business audience, and we are currently planning to include other channels of distribution by the beginning of the new year.”

Last month saw the newspaper launch its largest ever stand-alone supplement, targeting high earning City workers in an attempt to cash in on the return of big bonuses in the financial world (see City AM Expands With Largest Ever Supplement).

Elsewhere, new research commissioned by the title claims that more workers in the City and Canary Wharf now read the title than the Financial Times. The findings, unearthed by research firm NOP, show 16% of London’s population read City AM, compared to 12% who read the FT (see City AM Claims More Readers Than FT).
