Video Networks Starts New R.E.M Channel

Video Networks, provider of the HomeChoice entertainment and communications has announced the addition of a brand new R.E.M. video on demand music channel to it’s platform, with HomeChoice customers gaining exclusive access to the channel.

The launch of the R.E.M. music content coincides with the band’s UK tour, with the channel consisting of four different areas; R.E.M. videography, R.E.M. A-Z, R.E.M. true tones and competitions.

The V:RX R.E.M. channel is the first artist specific video on demand package in the world and will sit within HomeChoice’s suite of V:MX music channels, which feature a massive library of over 3,000 music videos.

Commenting on the new channel, Roger Lynch, chairman & chief executive of Video Networks said: “Video Networks already has an award-winning interactive music offering which allows HomeChoice customers to create their own play lists and purchase music tracks straight from their TV.”

Lynch added: “The addition of this on-demand channel is not only a true coup for R.E.M. fans but also ensures Video Networks continues to offer the most innovative music content on TV in the world today.”

Earlier this year, Video Networks’ announced the addition of a range of services to its HomeChoice Service, aiming to drive the company’s advertising strategy forward and improve the overall customer experience (see Video Networks Adds New Advertising Services).

The new technology enables advertisers to place on-demand intros, including brand strings, messages, cross promotions or advertisements automatically before any programme screened on the pay per view service. This is the first service of its kind in the UK, and demonstrates Video Networks’ commitment to providing alternative advertising opportunities on its on-demand platform.
