News Corporation To Sell Fox Films And TV Online

News Corporation Logo Rupert Murdoch’s News Corporation is to sell Fox films and TV shows, such as Prison Break and X-Men online, according to reports in the trade press.

The download service will see prices range from $19.99 (£10.57) for the latest films from the 20th Century Fox back catalogue, such as My Super Ex-Girlfriend and $1.99 for single episodes from Fox Television series, such as Prison Break.

Downloads will be available from October and users will be able to transfer their downloaded films and TV shows to Windows Media-compatible portable devices, but according to the reports, not to Apple iPods.

Last week Google signed an exclusive deal with MySpace, making the search giant the exclusive internet search and keyword advertising partner for the Fox network and its growing number of web properties (see MySpace And Google Sign Exclusive Deal).
