We All Go Ga-Ga Over Google

Google Logo US search engine Google is the most loved brand, according to a survey carried out by the communications company Joshua in conjunction with Marketing Magazine.

It gained 31.6% of the vote, with Tesco in second place on 28.6%, while budget supermarkets Lidl and Kwik Save were the least popular stores.

Mathew Howells, a director at Joshua, said that rather than measure consumers’ buying habits, the survey focused on emotional attachment to the brands.

The most hated brand was Pot Noodle, despite spending up to £5 million a year on advertising.

The home shopping channel QVC was almost as loathed, with 19.2% compared to Pot Noodle’s 20.6%.

The most loved television channels were BBC1 and ITV, and Sky Sports was among the most hated, with Mr Howells saying this may be because of its perceived laddishness.

All of the top five Premier league football clubs were less popular than last year, apart from Champions League winners Liverpool.
