CN Group Scoop Warwick FM Licence

CN Group Scoop Warwick FM Licence

Radio Transmitter Media regulator Ofcom has awarded a new FM licence covering Warwick, Leamington Spa, Kenilworth and the surrounding areas to CN Group, allowing the company to begin broadcasting in the area.

The new licence covers an area with an adult population of around 100,000. However, the exact coverage will be determined by the location of the station’s transmission equipment and other technical characteristics.

CN Group fought off competition from two rival broadcasters to secure the licence, and will now provide a locally-focused music and information service in the area.

The new licence follows CN’s success in attaining the licence for Banbury last year. The company’s Banbury bid, providing a “locally focused, adult contemporary radio station,” with “news information and features of particular interest to Banbury and the surrounding areas,” was selected as the most appropriate for the region in May (see CN Radio Scoops Banbury FM Licence).
