BBC Two’s Apprentice Presents Challenge To ITV

The Apprentice BBC Two’s new series of The Apprentice put in a strong performance last night, drawing 3.8 million adult viewers on average, topped only by ITV1’s film, About A Boy, which pipped the BBC show by 13,000.

BBC One displayed a less impressive schedule for the night, meanwhile, with chat show Davina drawing a disappointing 2.3 million adults on average.

The broadcaster’s Panorama, which examined the Metropolitan Police’s shoot to kill policy, and the death of innocent Brazilian Jean Charles de Menezes, recorded similarly poor viewing, with an adult audience just shy of 2 million.

Elsewhere, Channel 4’s Relocation, Relocation provided the broadcaster’s largest adult audience of the evening, notching up 3.4 million on average between 8pm and 9pm.

Five’s epic sci-fi film, Farscape: The Peacekeeper Wars, saw a disappointing performance last night, failing to break the 1 million barrier.

Sky’s broadcast of two high profile football matches netted it large numbers of viewers, meanwhile, with Sky Sports One’s Arsenal Vs Real Madrid drawing 1.7 million adults on average, while Liverpool Vs Benfica on Sky Sports Two was watched by 683,000 on average.
