talkSPORT To Broadcast From Germany

TalkSPORT Logo talkSPORT, the UK’s most popular commercial speech radio station, has struck a deal with German regional broadcasting chiefs to broadcast across the nation’s DAB digital radio airwaves during what promises to be a cracking World Cup.

This means that soccer-crazy fans will be able to listen to English radio in Germany for up to the minute comment and analysis on their DAB digital radios, and take part in phone-ins concerning the latest broken metatarsal.

talkSPORT is the only commercial radio station with official rights to the tournament (see TalkSPORT Campaign Reaches Fever Pitch) and will be broadcasting much of its output live from Germany throughout the tournament.

During ad breaks the service in Germany will provide the latest local news and information to football-loopy fans.

Daniel Rose, UTV digital radio development director, said: “This is a great opportunity for talkSPORT to give the England fans the chance to keep in touch with all that’s happening in the World Cup, whilst supporting the England team in Germany and endorsing talkSPORT’s commitment to DAB digital radio.”
